Tired legs...
Dec. 14th, 2008 10:33 pmSo I have not played an ice hockey game in a month and had to play two in back to back days. What does that mean?
Very tired and sore legs...
Of course then,
perro has the great idea of going skiing on Sunday. Now, I haven't skied in 20 years and was unsure of my skills. Because of the crappy weather elsewhere, we (including
darkwolph ,
kodi_pup , and Huxley) ended up at Chestnut Mountain Resort in Galena, IL. Oddly, I was traveling past Freeport which I was just at 3 days ago. Luckily the lift ticket only cost $14 (the cost was the same as the day of the month). After renting some of the resort's ski equipment, I hit the slopes.
Now the runs are very short. You can get from the top to the bottom in about 20 seconds in an average pace. After a few runs on the 3 greens trails (which were pretty green) by myself, I was able to ski decently down the other 4 blue trails which are probably equivalent to a tough green out west. With the snow and weather conditions being not so hot (but much better than anticipated), I ended up just carving my skis down the hill and not going straight down, i'm not good enough for that. Thank god for my ice hockey skating skills. I can carve into ice pretty good.
Overall, it was tiring but fun. Great company and very supportive. I'm glad I got to get out and ski again. Just need more practice before I get to ski with Nitro. I'm sure he'll definitely be better than me.
I'm gonna have very sore legs tomorrow.
