I made the mistake of mentioning plans to move to an employer I thought had my back once too far in advance...they wound up laying me off 3 months early early because "I was leaving anyway" and I had to scramble to find something temporary in the interim (which paid less and totally fucked with my plans). Since then I have adhered to a strict 2-week policy.
Is there anything in your contract that protects you once you've given your 3-month notice? Or are they free to just give you hell any way they can think of?
